The tiles of our brickyard are rigorously hand-made inside suitable moulds, following the ancient craft tradition, handed down from father to son over the years. The raw materials employed are the classic Umbrian clays: light, pale yellow and rosy, together with the local sands and earths, whose natural features are a warrant of an high-quality product. The clays, carefully selected, are subjected to high-temperature baking (from 950 to 980° C) for very long times. These peculiarities ensure the completion of the chemical-physical reactions needed for the processing of the clay into tile. In so doing, they warrant a product with high standards of solidity and of resistance against severe weather conditions. Its preservation of the colour, the transpiration of dampness, its capacity of resistance to fire, its heat insulation and its soundproofing, its versatility of use, are the features which, all together, are characteristic of our tiles. The range of special elements, which we produce, is indeed very broad, and can be employed in any field: from the new structures to the building recovery, from the manufactured products for the street furniture to the flooring. We produce also "custom-made" elements, without limits of shapes or dimensions.
The Giuliani hand-made cotto brick is an excellent product meant for an high-quality and prestigious building. Its versatility allows to solve, in a very creative way, several architectural and aestetic problems. It can be employed both in the new structures and in the environmental restoration and recovery inside the old town centres, in order not to alter the original image of the pre-existing architectural context. warranting, at the same time, the high technical level of performance which are peculiar of our material.
